Chain 4, join.
1. Ch 3, 2 DC, CH 2, 3DC, CH 2, 3DC CH 2, 3DC, CH 1, SC in beginning CH 3. This will put you at the center of your chain space.
2. Ch 3, 2 DC, CH 2; 3DC, CH2, 3DC, CH2 in next space, repeat two more times. For last corner shell, CH 1 and SC join to beginning CH3.
3. Ch 3, 2 DC, CH 2; *3DC in next space, CH2; 3DC, CH2, 3DC,in next corner space. CH 2, repeat around from*. 3DC in last space. CH1 and SC join.

i have been trying to make a proper looking granny square forever…i have followed many of the videos here and none of them were very specific, even the ones meant for beginners always confused me at some point and my squares turned out mostly looking like circles or pentagons! but your video helped produce my first ever successfully SQUARE granny square, and i thank you, wonderful teacher
